FUDGE FLAT CAKE 
4 oz. Baker's chocolate, cut in pieces
2 c. sifted flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter or Crisco if desired
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten

Step I: Pour boiling water over cut up chocolate; let cool.

Step II: Cream sugar, butter and add unbeaten eggs. Add flour, salt and soda alternately with milk. Add melted chocolate; mix well. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Cool and frost with minute Fudge Frosting.

Frosting: Place in saucepan 2 ounces of Bakers chocolate cut fine, 2 cups sugar, 2/3 cup milk, 1/2 cup butter and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Bring slowly to full rolling boil, stir constantly. Boil 1 minute. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Set aside until you can place your hand comfortably on bottom of pan. Beat until thick enough to spread.
