ITALIAN CREME CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
5 eggs
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
1 c. nuts

Cream together Crisco and butter; add sugar and eggs. Mixing one at a time, stir flour and soda, then add 1 cup buttermilk. Do this alternately. Mix and add vanilla, coconut, and pecans. Mix well. Grease and flour pans. Pour in 3 pans. Bake 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING:

1 box confectioners' sugar
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 stick butter

Spread between each layer and on top and sides. You can sprinkle coconut, if wanted, on cake.
