1/2 c. butter 2 c. sugar 4 sq. bitter chocolate 2 eggs 2 c. cake flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. milk 1 c. pecans Cream butter and sugar until soft and fluffy. Add chocolate which has been melted over hot water. Add eggs which have been thoroughly beaten. Add flour, salt, baking powder, vanilla, nuts and milk. Pour into 2 (9 inch) pans and bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. ICING: 1 box confectioners' sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 sq. bitter chocolate 2 tsp. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. nuts Mix butter and sugar, then add chocolate which has been melted over hot water. Add lemon juice and a beaten egg. Add vanilla, salt, and nuts. Beat until smooth, then spread. |
