1 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening and sugar well. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Fill cookie press and form cookies on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Yields about 60-72 cookies.
