PEPPER STEAK 
1 1/2 lb. sirloin (or tender cut) steak, cut against grain into strips, desired length
2-3 med. green peppers, cut into strips
1 lg. onion, cut into wedges
1 can water chestnuts (optional)
1 can mushrooms (optional)
1 fresh garlic clove or 1/4 tsp. garlic powder (either is good)
1/4 tsp. ginger
Few shakes ground pepper

Place oil in skillet and heat. Add garlic, ginger and ground pepper. Add meat and brown lightly. Add peppers, onions, mushrooms and water chestnuts.

While meat and vegetables are cooking, prepare 1/4 cup soy sauce with 1/2 cup beef bouillon and 1 tablespoon sugar. Pour over meat and vegetables and cook until vegetables are of desired tenderness.

Just before ready to serve, combine 1 tablespoon cornstarch to 1 cup cold water and pour over meat and vegetables for thickness. Serve over rice or noodles.
