JOSIE'S BAZAAR FRUIT CAKE 
4 heaping c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 heaping c. butter
2 heaping c. sugar
3 eggs
1 qt. apple sauce
1 lb. fruit mix (save some cherries to decorate cake)
2 lb. black raisins
1 lb. white (golden) raisins
1 lb. currants
2 c. nuts

Sift flour and soda, salt and spices together. Set aside. Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well. Add other ingredients in order given, finally adding flour mixture. Put into 2 greased tube pans (put paper into bottom of pans). Decorate with nuts, cherries and almonds if desired. Bake 2 hours at 275 degrees. Have pan of water, in oven for added moisture.
