BAKED CARAMEL CORN 
6 qts. popped popcorn (no butter or salt)
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Place popcorn in large bowl.

In heavy 4 quart saucepan, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, salt and cream of tartar. Stir with a wooden spoon and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in soda. Pour over popped corn. Stir to coat. Spread on two ungreased cookie sheets. Place in oven for one hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
