POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/3 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
5 eggs
3 c. Swansdown flour
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Have eggs and butter at room temperature. Cream sugar, Crisco and butter. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Add milk and flour alternately then flavorings. Bake in tube pan, greased and floured.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, turn down to 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes longer. Cool in pan 10 minutes longer BEFORE turning out.
