GARLIC ARTICHOKES 
4 artichokes
1 tbsp. oil
1 tbsp. lemon juice
4 tbsp. butter
Garlic powder

Cut off stem of artichokes so it will sit flat in pan. Cut off about 1 inch of top; spread with butter. Sprinkle top liberally with Lawry's garlic powder. Place artichokes in large pan and fill with water so that about 1/2 of artichoke is covered. Add oil and lemon juice to water. Cook on medium high about 30-60 minutes depending on size of artichokes. Test for doneness by holding choke with tongs and piercing bottom with fork. If done, fork will pierce easily. Serve with mayonnaise (my favorite) or melted butter.
