APPLE DUMPLINGS 
6 apples, peeled
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 drops red food color
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening

Boil the sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg and red food coloring together. Then add butter. Sift the flour and baking powder. Make dough (use the no - fail pie crust recipe for the dough). Roll dough, place the apples on the dough, wrap dough around the apples and pour on the syrup. Grease pan. Bake at 350 degrees until crust is golden brown.
