JESSIE'S SHORTBREAD 
2/3 c. softened butter
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. flour

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Butter a 9 inch round pan. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla. Combine flour with chopped nuts. Add in 4 portions. Pat into pan. Bake 30 minutes until slightly puffy. Cut into wedges while hot. Makes 16 wedges.
