PEANUT BUTTER TOPPED BROWNIES | |
1 c. butter 5 blocks (5 oz.) baking chocolate, broken into pieces 4 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 c. sugar 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts FROSTING: 2 c. confectioners' sugar 1/2 c. peanut butter 1 tsp. vanilla extract 6 tbsp. milk BROWNIES: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13x2 inch pan. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat; add baking chocolate and stir until melted. Set aside to cool. In a small mixer bowl, beat eggs and vanilla slightly; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add cooled chocolate mixture. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; blend into chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts. Pour into pan, bake 30 to 35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan. Makes about 32 brownies. Frost with Peanut Butter Frosting. FROSTING: In small mixer bowl, combine all ingredients; beat until smooth. |
