CARAMEL-BUTTERSCOTCH ICE BOX
COOKIES
 
3 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar, packed firm
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour and baking powder together. Cream shortening; stir in sugar gradually. Add well beaten eggs, vanilla and nuts; mix well. Stir in dry ingredients. The mixture will be a stiff dough.

Shape into rolls. Store in refrigerator. Cut 1/8-inch thick. Place on baking sheet. Bake on top shelf in oven at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
