SUGAR 'N SPICE COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
3/4 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. soft or melted butter
1 egg, beaten

Sift together dry ingredients. Add to this, the milk, egg, butter mixing lightly. Spread batter in a greased glass baking dish. Sprinkle topping on batter. Or can put half batter, half topping, then rest of batter, and final topping. Bake at 375 degrees about 30 minutes. Put in a 8 inch square pan. (Topping may be increased if a sweeter cake is desired.)

TOPPING:

When mixed together, will be crumbly.

1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. melted butter

This coffee cake may be mixed the night before you want it. Refrigerate. Bake the next morning.
