MOUTH WATERING SUGAR COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter and confectioners' sugar. Add egg, vanilla and beat well. Sift flour, salt, cream of tartar and baking soda together. Add gradually to butter mixture and mix well after each addition. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake approximately 12 minutes at 350 degrees or until very lightly browned.
