1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. boiling water

Place in mixing bowl in order given and mix thoroughly. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan.
