OATMEAL BREAD | |
1 c. quick oatmeal or 3 instant pkgs. 2 c. boiling water 1/2 to 2/3 c. molasses 1 tbsp. salt 2 tbsp. corn oil 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 6 c. flour Put oatmeal and boiling water in a bowl. Stir and let cool. Add molasses, salt, and oil. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Add flour to oatmeal/molasses mixture. Add yeast to all. Cover with a towel and let rise to double in bulk. Knead down and put in 2 greased bread pans. Let rise 2 1/2 hours. Bake at 325-350 degrees for 50 minutes. |
