PAM'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. solid shortening
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour milk (use vinegar to sour)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch salt
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Blend all ingredients together except flour, milk, chocolate chips, and nuts. Mix very well. Gradually add flour and milk. Continue mixing until all flour and milk are added and blended evenly with other ingredients.

Add chocolate chips and nuts (optional). Mix together. Place teaspoon portions on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees approximately 10 minutes. Place on cooling rack or wax paper. Approximately 5-6 dozen.
