COLORADO BISCUITS 
3 c. flour
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. milk

Sift together dry ingredients. Blend in shortening with pastry blender or a fork. Add milk and egg; mix quickly. Knead into shape and roll out 1/2-inch thick. Cut and bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes.
