MEAT PIE
2 lbs. beef or venison
Biscuit dough recipe
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk

Put in a 9-inch round pan 3 inches deep.

Cut meat into 2 inch long, 1 inch wide, and 1/2 inch thick. Cover bottom of pan with meat and then layer the rest of meat in pan. Season to your liking. Completely cover meat with water. Heat oven to 450 degrees.

Make biscuit dough. Mix all dry ingredients together and cut in shortening. Add milk to make soft puffy dough easy to roll. Roll out to approximately 10-inch diameter. Cut 2 inch hole in center of dough. Shot glass works well.

Place dough over top of pan and press edges with fork. Cut off excess dough. Place into oven for 10-12 minutes or until light brown. Take out of oven and place on top burner at low heat. Simmer for approximately 3 hours. Add water through hole in dough when needed. Serves approximately 6 servings.
