BEST WHOLE WHEAT PANCAKES 
1 1/4 c. sour milk or buttermilk
3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/4 c. wheat germ
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. each brown sugar and oil
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

In bowl mix all ingredients well. Using scant 1/4 cup batter for each pancake, bake on hot griddle until golden brown on both sides. Serve at once. Makes 4 servings.

I LOVE these pancakes... they were a huge hit with my family. I have made them several times and have found that adding chopped walnuts as well as cinnamon makes them even better!

Truly the most delicious whole wheat recipe I've ever had! Whipped them together in 5 minutes. I, too, added walnuts and cinnamon and they were divine! Everyone enjoyed them, and my mother-in-law asked for the recipe. Definitely a keeper!

Didn't have buttermilk, so just substituted 1/4 Greek yogurt and 1 cup milk. No wheat germ either, so 1 cup whole wheat flour instead. Despite all that, they turned out great.
