KAHLUA CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1 pkg. Duncan Hines Devils Food cake mix 1 pkg. Jello chocolate fudge instant pudding 1/2 c. salad oil 4 eggs 3/4 c. Kahlua 1/2 c. strong coffee, at room temperature Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease and flour pan. Blend all ingredients in a large bowl; beat for 2 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Tube pan 10 inches or fluted: 50 to 60 minutes. Two (9 inch) round layers: 40 to 45 minutes. 13 x 9 inch oblong pan: 50 to 55 minutes. Cool tube cake in pan 25 minutes. Then invert onto serving plate. Cool other size pans 15 to 20 minutes then remove from pan; frost when fully cool. KAHLUA FROSTING: 6 tbsp. butter 1 lb. box 10X sugar 3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa 3 tbsp. Kahlua 2 to 3 tbsp. hot strong coffee In bowl, cream butter, add powdered sugar and cocoa. Beat continually while adding Kahlua. Still beating, add hot coffee to a thick smooth consistency. |
