BUTTERMILK CHOCOLATE BREAD AND CHOCOLATE BUTTER | |
1 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter, softened 2 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 1 3/4 c. flour 1/2 c. cocoa 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/3 c. chopped nuts Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom only of 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. In large bowl, combine sugar and butter; blend thoroughly. Add eggs. Mix well. Stir in buttermilk. Add flour, cocoa, baking powder, and soda. Stir just until dry particles are moistened. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool upright in pan 15 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely before slicing. 12 servings. CHOCOLATE BUTTER: 1/2 c. butter, softened 2 tbsp. chocolate syrup 2 tbsp. honey In small bowl, combine all ingredients. Beat at highest speed until light and fluffy. Yield: 1 cup. |
