YEAST ROLLS 
Dissolve 1 package yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Let stand 20 minutes.

Cream 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup shortening. Add 2 cups lukewarm water; then add the yeast mixture. Add 1 1/2 teaspoon salt and flour (about 5-6 cups) to make stiff dough. Knead well. Let rise until doubled, work down and make out rolls. Let rise again. Bake until golden brown or place in covered dish in refrigerator. Grease pan before placing roll to rise.
