SPOON YEAST ROLLS 
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk, scalded
1/2 c. cold water
1 egg, beaten
3 1/2 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add a pinch of sugar to the yeast water; set aside. Combine 1/4 cup sugar, shortening, salt and scalding milk. Cool by adding cold water. Blend in egg and yeast mixture. Add flour and mix well. Let rise 45 minutes. Stir down. Spoon into greased pan. Let rise for 50 minutes.

Bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
