ALL-AMERICAN BROWNIES 
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 c. cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Butter a 13x9 inch baking pan. Melt the 1/2 pound butter and let cool. Combine flour, cocoa and baking powder. Beat eggs and vanilla until foamy. Gradually beat in sugar until blended and then beat in butter. Beat in flour mixture. Stir in walnuts.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan, 30-35 minutes. Let cool before cutting into squares. Makes 24.
