CHOCOLATE CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 1/4 c. milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. cubed stale bread

Add chocolate to milk and heat in double boiler. When chocolate is melted, stir until blended. Beat eggs until foamy; add sugar and salt. Then add chocolate mixture gradually, stirring vigorously. Add vanilla.

Place bread in a greased baking dish; pour mixture over it, let stand 5 minutes. Mix well before baking. Place dish in pan of hot water and bake at 350°F until pudding is firm and a thin knife inserted in center comes out clean.
