1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. candy kisses

Combine all ingredients except kisses. Shape dough into balls, roll in sugar, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. As soon as cookies are taken from oven, press a candy kiss firmly into center so cookies will "crack" around edges.
