SNICKER DOODLES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Chill dough 2 hours.

Form into walnut size balls and roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon, or sugar and nutmeg, or colored sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 9 to 10 minutes.
