CAULIFLOWER AND HAM CHOWDER 
2 potatoes, diced
1 c. water
1 onion, diced
2 tsp. chicken soup base
1 sm. cauliflower, chopped
1 c. water
1 qt. half & half
1/3 c. flour
2 1/2 c. ham, cubed
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. white pepper

Combine potatoes, water, onion and chicken soup base in soup pot. Simmer 10 minutes until potatoes are tender. Add cauliflower and water to pot. Simmer 10 more minutes until all is tender.

Put 1 cup half & half in a jar with flour. Shake until smooth. Add to soup pot along with remaining half & half. Heat 7 minutes or until thickened. Add ham, nutmeg and white pepper. Heat through. Serves 4-6.

NOTE: Substitute broccoli flower.
