HAM CHOWDER | |
2 c. boiling water 2 c. chopped potatoes 1/2 c. carrot slices 1/2 c. celery slices 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. flour 2 c. milk 2 1/2 c. shredded cheese, cheddar or colby 16 oz. can cream style corn 1-2 c. cubed ham Combine water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 10 minutes or microwave on full power 10-15 minutes. DO NOT DRAIN. Melt butter in saucepan or microwave dish. Add flour and mix well. Add milk and stir constantly over medium heat until thick. Can microwave on full power 6-8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes until thick. Add cheese to milk/flour mixture. Then add cheese sauce, corn, ham to vegetables. Heat through on stove top or in microwave. Do not boil. |
