1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. water

Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, soda and salt directly into a 9 inch square cake pan. Make 3 indentations in dry mixture in pan with back of a tablespoon. Pour oil into one indentation, vinegar into the second and the vanilla into the third. Pour the water over the mixture. Stir with a fork until mixture is just blended. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. No frosting needed.
