OZARK CHICKEN BAKE | |
1 stewing chicken 1 tsp. salt 1 qt. water 4 med. sweet potatoes 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. powdered cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1/8 tsp. lemon pepper 1/8 tsp. onion salt 1/4 tsp. rubbed sage Cut chicken into serving pieces. Place in pot with water and salt. Cook until tender. Peel sweet potatoes, quarter length-wise. Cook in small amount of water until tender. Remove chicken from broth, place in baking pan. Combine lemon pepper, black pepper, onion salt and sage, sprinkle over chicken. Arrange sweet potatoes around chicken. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar. Pour 1/2 cup of the broth overall. Place in preheated oven. Cook at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. |
