BASIC BROWNIES 
1/3 c. butter
2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chocolate chips

Melt butter and chocolate in a small saucepan; cool to room temperature. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and set aside. Beat sugar, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy; slowly mix in chocolate mixture, then dry ingredients. Stir in chips. Spread into a greased 8x8x2 inch pan and bake 30-35 minutes until brownies pull away 1/4 inch from side of pan. 165 calories per brownie.
