DANISH PASTRY APPLE BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. corn flakes
3/4 to 1 c. sugar
1 egg white
1 c. shortening
1 egg
8 to 10 apples, sliced
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine flour, salt, cut in shortening. Beat egg yolk in measuring cup; add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid. Mix well. Stir into flour mixture. Roll half the dough, place in pan 15 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.

Sprinkle with corn flakes. Top with sliced apples. Combine sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle on top. Roll remaining dough and place over apples. Seal edges. Cut slits in the top crust. Beat egg white until frothy. Brush on crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes. Drizzle frosting on while hot.
