WATER CHESTNUTS WITH BACON 
8 oz. can whole water chestnuts
1 bottle soy sauce
1/2 c. sugar
1 lb. bacon, cut each slice in 1/3's

In pint jar, drain chestnuts and place nuts, sugar and soy sauce to cover all. Marinate in mixture in refrigerator overnight or several days, turning and shaking. After marinating, drain chestnuts and wrap each in 1/3 piece of bacon, fastening with a toothpick. (If chestnuts are too large, cut in half.)

Place on cookie sheets and bake at 325 degrees until bacon is cooked well. Turn once. May be made ahead and frozen. Reheat before serving.
