PORT WINE CHERRY SALAD | |
1 lb. can dark sweet pitted cherries 2 (3 oz.) pkgs. black cherry flavored gelatin 1 c. boiling water 1 tsp. unflavored gelatin 1 tbsp. cold water 3/4 c. reserved cherry juice 2 c. port wine Drain cherries and reserve juice. Dissolve cherry flavored gelatin in boiling water. Soak unflavored gelatin in cold water and dissolve in hot cherry gelatin mixture. Add reserved cherry juice. Cool to room temperature. Add port wine. Chill until slightly congealed. Add cherries and mix gently. Pour into a lightly oiled four and one half cup ring mold. Chill until firm. Serves 6 to 8. |
