TORTE TATIN 
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice or vinegar
5 med. apples, cored, not Golden Delicious
1 (9 inch) pie crust

In a small saucepan cook sugar and vinegar until a caramel color appears. Pour into a pie pan. Cover caramel with apples. Cover with pie crust making sure all edges are sealed. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve by turning pie upside down onto a plate. Serve warm. Makes 10 servings.
