BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
Put in large container for 2 hours:

4 qts. cucumbers, thinly sliced
1/2 c. kosher salt
2 qts. sliced onions, drained

Put in pan:

1 qt. cider vinegar
4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tbsp. celery seed

Bring to a boil, boil 10 minutes. Add cucumbers and onions. Bring to boil again. Pack immediately in sterilized jars. Yield: 8 (12 oz.) jars.
