WAISTLINE BARBECUED CHICKEN 
2 tbsp. salad oil or fat
2 to 3 lbs. broiler fryers, quartered
3 c. canned tomato juice
1/2 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. ketchup
4 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. salt

Start heating oven to 350 degrees. In hot salad oil, in skillet, brown chicken well on all sides. Remove to shallow baking pan. In saucepan, combine tomato juice, vinegar, sugar, onions, Worcestershire, ketchup, mustard, pepper, and salt. Heat; pour over chicken. Bake chicken, uncovered, 1 hour or until tender, basting every 10 minutes with sauce. (If sauce is thick, stir in a little water.) Makes 8 servings.
