1 2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. water
2 1/2 c. cake flour
4 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
4 level tsp. baking powder

After creaming sugar and Crisco, add water and flour alternately until 1/3 has been added then add egg whites one at a time. Beat hard and add remaining flour, water, vanilla, lemon juice and baking powder. Bake at 350 degrees. Check for doneness.
