JEWISH APPLE CAKE | |
3 c. sifted flour 2 c. sugar (take sugar for apples from 2 c.) 1 c. oil 4 eggs 1/4 c. orange juice 3 tsp. baking powder 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt 4-5 apples, cut in sm. cubes 1 c. chopped walnuts 2 tsp. cinnamon Blend cinnamon and 5 tablespoons sugar. Sprinkle over apples and set aside. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl. In a small bowl beat eggs, orange juice, oil and vanilla. Pour in flour mixture and beat well until smooth then fold in walnuts. Pour 1/2 batter in 10 inch greased tube pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 apple mixture. Pour in rest of batter and sprinkle top with rest of apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. |
