COUNTRY STYLE PEAS 
5 strips of bacon
1 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. flour
1 can condensed consomme
Salt and pepper to taste
2 (#2) cans peas

Cut bacon into small pieces. Fry until almost crisp. Add onion and fry until soft. Drain off all but 2 tablespoons fat. Sprinkle with flour making a rue. Add consomme stirring to make gravy like consistency. Add pea juice if too thick. Add drained peas. Heat and serve. Serves 8.
