PART 1: 1 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 2 tbsp. water PART 2: 1/2 c. butter 1 c. water 1 tsp. almond flavoring 1 c. flour 3 eggs PART 3: 1 c. confectioners' sugar 4 tbsp. hot water Chopped nuts or cherries if desired PART 1 - Mix ingredients well (use food processor). Form into a ball. Divide in half. Pat into two 12 x 3 inch strips and place 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. PART 2 - Mix butter and water - bring to rapid boil. Remove from heat, add flavoring and quickly beat in flour. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat after each addition. Spread evenly over pastry strips. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. PART 3 - Make a glaze of sugar and water. Drizzle over pastry - sprinkle with chopped nuts or cherries if desired. |
