CZARDAS CASSEROLE | |
1 lg. onion, peeled and chopped 1 tbsp. fat 2 tsp. flour 1 (#2) can tomatoes, chopped 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 bay leaf 4 c. cubed roast beef 12 lg. pitted prunes 6 or 8 very sm. boiled potatoes Start oven at 375 degrees. Cook onion in fat in 2 quart casserole until golden. Blend in flour, add tomatoes, seasonings, and beef. Stir to mix well. Let simmer slowly 10 minutes. Stuff 6 prunes with pieces of boiled potatoes, add remaining potatoes and prunes to beef mixture. Top with stuffed prunes. Cover casserole. Bake 30 minutes, uncovered. |
