CHEESE BISCUITS | |
2 c. self-rising flour 1/3 c. shortening 1/2 c. (2-oz.) shredded cheddar cheese 3/4 c. milk Combine flour and shortening in a medium bowl, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in cheese and milk. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly 3-4 times. Roll to 1/2-inch thickness, cut into rounds with biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450°F for 10-12 minutes. Yield: one dozen. |
