Not bad but the molasses on the side touching the pan burnt.

After attempting this recipe a multitude of times, I have made several substitutions to improve it. Replace all of the molasses with a 1/2 cup light brown sugar. Squeeze a few tbsp of juice from a lemon into the apple mixture before baking. Bake the apples for 30 minutes instead of 20. Dump out the liquid in the bottom of the pan once the apples are done cooking. Replace the 1/2 cup milk with an egg, a tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 cup water. Add about a 1/3 cup of flour more than what the recipe calls for. Make sure you use real butter and not margarine. At the end, bake the whole thing (after you pour the dough mixture on) for 45 minutes. These changes make the recipe worthwhile, trust me.
