GRANDMA'S WALNUT BARS 
1 lb. light brown sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cube butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla. Add remaining ingredients. Mix and pour into lightly greased 11x13 inch baking dish. Bake at 325 degrees about 25 minutes or until done. Cool and cut into 1 1/2 inch squares. Dates or raisins can be added to recipe by reducing walnuts to 1 cup. Served every Christmas at grandma's house.
