CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT BROWNIES | |
BROWNIE LAYER: 4 sq. unsweetened chocolate 1 c. butter 4 eggs 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. all purpose flour 2 pinches salt MIDDLE CREAM LAYER: 1 lb. confectioner's sugar 1 stick butter 4 tbsp. milk 4 drops green food coloring 2 tsp. peppermint extract GLAZE LAYER: 4 sq. chocolate 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate 6 tbsp. butter Melt chocolate and butter. Beat eggs with sugar and add to melted mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients and bake in greased 12 x 18 inch pan at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until middle springs back when lightly pressed. Cool and spread with cream layer. Mix cream layering and beat until smooth. Spread on brownie layer; then freeze until firm; then put on glaze. Glaze: Melt chocolate and butter, beat until smooth. Cool and pour quickly over cream layer. Cut immediately and keep chilled. |
