ITALIAN CHOCOLATE SPICE COOKIES 
4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. cocoa
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. ground cloves
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1 c. water
3/4 c. oil

Mix all ingredients well. Roll into balls the size of a quarter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. When cool, frost with your favorite chocolate icing.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

1/2 lb. confectioners' sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter

Mix all ingredients together. Adjust with confectioners' sugar or milk to make a good dipping consistency.

I just made these and was skeptical as no eggs or butter in this recipe. Just oil and water. What flavor! I have an old family recipe and this one is MUCH more moist and the color was beautiful. They taste sensational!
